We're proud to share that CSE Associate Professor Huan Sun has been selected for funding by Schmidt Sciences through their new AI Safety Science initiative—a $10 million program supporting foundational research in AI safety. Dr. Sun’s project will explore defenses against adversarial attacks on multimodal computer-use agents, advancing methods to evaluate and mitigate safety risks in real-world applications. She is joined in this effort by fellow CSE faculty Assistant Professor Yu Su and Distinguished Professor of Engineering and Institute for Cybersecurity and Digital Trust Director Zhiqiang Lin. This marks the first time an Ohio State researcher has received funding through a Schmidt Sciences RFP, and we are excited to see the impact of this work on the broader AI safety research community.
