You use policytool
to read and write a plain text policy file based on user input through the utility GUI.
Note:
The policytool
tool has been deprecated in JDK 9 and might be removed in the next major JDK release.
Synopsis
policytool [ -file ] [ filename ]
Description
The policytool
command calls an administrator's GUI that enables system administrators to manage the contents of local policy files. A policy file is a plain-text file with a .policy
extension, that maps remote requestors by ___domain, to permission objects. For details, see Default Policy Implementation and Policy File Syntax.
Examples
To run the policy tool administrator utility, use the following command:
policytool
To run the policytool
command and load the specified file, use the following command line:
policytool -file mypolicyfile
